About Us

Raitara Sanjeevini Trust is a Government registered trust have been working for the welfare of the farmers by creating subcommittees in each and every village and guiding the subcommittee farmers to adopt new techniques and information regarding agriculture.


Introduction

Raitara Sanjeevini Trust is a government registered trust with the motive of upliftment of farmers, by working along with the farmers. Trust has been working for the welfare of the farmers by providing services, scientific knowledge and training by forming subcommittees in the villages of Karnataka. Trust will provide quality inputs such as Seeds, Fertilizers and Chemicals to the farmers of the subcommittees to grow quality field and horticultural crops. Then, the trust will purchase the Agricultural produces from subcommittee farmers and trust will market the same produces at different levels. Along with the crop production Raitara Sanjeevini trust will train and guide interested farmers in the field of animal husbandry and allied agriculture enterprises.

The complete idea of Raitara Sanjeevini Trust was built and executed by Mr. Mohankumar H. C., a post graduate in MSW (Master's of Social Work) in the year 2013, who have been working for the welfare of farming community by forming Sri Kamadhenu dairy farm in the year 2015-16 as a proto-type for Raitara Sanjeevini Trust and Chethan N., a graduate in BBM and LLB also a founder of Zigbrado e-commerce company through which he built a supply chain for fresh agricultural produce.

Sri Kamadhenu Dairy subcommittee was started with 10 members with activities related to animal husbandry and dairy farming.


Committee activities:

Training and guiding the farmers about dairy farming with advanced techniques to get more yields on dairy products like milk and byproduct with minimum resource. The members of the team has been guided on the method of cattle feeding, maintaining the health of cattle to ensure to get good quality milk with required fat content. From the survey, the results showed that the quality of milk was improved as compared to traditional methods of dairy farming. After observing these results, the same method has been implemented in the farming community as Raitara Sanjeevini Trust with the following objectives,

  • To up lift the farmer's children who are socially and economically backward classes irrespective of their religion and caste.
  • To ensure the farmers that they can grow any agricultural crops without any credit loan.
  • To educate the farmers regarding the soil test, fertility of soil and geographical conditions of the land. Based on this, suitable crops will be recommended.
  • To establish the information centers to provide day to day information about weather parameters, cultivation aspects of agricultural crops and market value.
  • To establish Training Centers at hobli level to educate them regarding the new technologies developed in the field of agriculture.
  • To establish the warehouses at hobli or taluk level to store the agricultural produces.
  • To provide marketing facilities for agricultural produces in their local areas.
  • To establish the Farmer School at Rural level along with display board or mobile application to provide information regarding cultivation, weeding, pest and disease management, harvesting etc., of agricultural crops.
  • To arrange frequent visits to agricultural university to elaborate the knowledge of farmers during field days, Krishi-mela etc.
  • To make Farming Families economically stable by implementing the Integrated Farming System (IFS), by removing credit farming system, by training and helping the farmers to take up new agriculture enterprises.
  • To provide self-employment opportunities for farmers and their children.
  • To recruit one agriculture graduate as an Agricultural Field Officer (AGFO) for every 10 villages and further trust operations will be managed by the same AGFO in the respective villages.
  • To undertake Government projects [state or central] as artificial person of NGO.
  • To conduct the tours to develop relationships between the farmers of one region to another region and also to develop the harmony between the farmers.
  • To do renovation of buildings such as Raitha Bhavana, Raitha Kuteera, Raitha Mandira, and take over its management, and to do other agricultural programmes for ever.
  • To achieve all these programmes the trust shall establish subcommittees at villages and the trustees are authorized to nominate the members and these committees are working under the supervision of trust board. Trustees shall frame the rules and regulations of subcommittees and all subcommittee members are not eligible to interfere in the management of the trust, but they are eligible to work under supervision of the trustees.

Therefore Trust encourages the formation of subcommittees to get the facilities from Trust. Coordination and volunteerism among the farmers along with the trust employees help to grow together.

Raitara Sanjeevini Trust focuses to serve individual farmers by connecting them with the subject matter specialist, in order to train and guide about the various aspects of agriculture to enhance their economic status.


Activities of District manager

  • Recruit one Agriculture Field Officer for every 10 villages in respective district.
  • Train and guide the Agriculture Field Officer in order to extract proper work from the AGFO.
  • Manage all the AGFO's reported under respective District Manager.
  • Prepare monthly program list to create awareness about the new technology, problems or issues regarding agriculture aspects in all villages.
  • To ensure the timely input supply to the farmers and to take care of the procurement activity after harvest of agriculture produce.
  • To take care of all subcommittees activities in order to fulfill the trust objectives.

Activities of Agriculture Field Officer

  • Formation of 10 subcommittees with minimum of 14 farmers in a single subcommittee.
  • Scientific soil sample collection from all registered farmers.
  • Maintain regular communication with all farmers in subcommittees
  • Train the secretary of each subcommittee to collect the basic data from all the farmers.
  • Spread awareness about new innovation in agriculture to the farmers through small programs.
  • AGFO is the communicator between Farmers and the Trust management.

Revolutionary changes after deployment of AGFO and formation of subcommittees

  • Elimination of Credit farming system by providing quality input to the registered farmers.
    To eliminate the credit farming system trust will provide the quality input (seeds, fertilizers and pesticides) for zero percent interest to the farmers. Before providing the inputs to the Farmers Trust will test the soil of every farmer in the subcommittee, based on the result of soil test Trust will suggest and guide in crop selection. Trust AGFO will be available through the crop cycle, hence farmers can reach AGFO in point of time for any crop related issues and solutions. After harvest of crop Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will purchase at market price directly from their fields.
  • Subject specialist guidance in all areas.
    As the trust is recruiting the post graduates and agriculture graduates as an, District manager and AGFO respectively, will help the farmers of the subcommittees to reach the subject specialist directly in any point of time to get the information. Scientific Knowledge and Technical Awareness will be created by conducting monthly programs and yearly visits to the Agriculture Universities. Monthly program will be conducted based on the common interest of the farmers, common crops grown, new technology in agriculture and agriculture enterprises. Subject specialist from the Trust will address the Farmers of subcommittee regarding the issues in particular crops, new ideas, new technology and adoption of that new technology. After every program training will be given to interested subcommittee farmers to make them more perfect in their interested areas.
  • Training and awareness about new technology
    There is a huge gap between research and implementation of new technology in farming sector. The research and innovations made by subject specialists of the universities are not reaching every farmers, Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will create awareness among the farmers about new technologies and innovations in the field of agriculture by arranging monthly programs and training session.
  • Scientific knowledge for the farmers throughout the crop cultivation period
    AGFO's who are working in the trust will conduct awareness programme among the farmers, prior to the emergence of any pest and diseases in agricultural crops for its efficient management including IPM/ IDM techniques.
  • Quality assurance at the time harvesting
    An effective quality assurance system is essential to provide good quality supply of agricultural produce. AGFO's will conduct programmes on advanced mechanical harvesting of agricultural crops and proper storage of agricultural produces. This helps the farmers in increase the crop quality by reducing the crop's physical injuries at the time of harvest. Post harvest losses will be reduced by proper storage.
  • Local market creation for all agriculture produces
    Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will create a market and provide storage facilities in their surrounding areas at Hobli or at Taluk level where farmers will sell their produces without the involvement of middle men.
  • Creation of farmer's school at Hobli level to resolve all farmers issues and problems
    Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will create a farmer's school at hobli level along with display board and mobile application that will help farmers to solve agricultural issues independently and instantly. For example, if a farmer facing an issue with respect to the pest of any crop, he has to go to that particular crop and particular crop in the display board it will give the complete details about the pests and their control measures.
  • Monthly connect among the subcommittees and AGFO's
    District Managers and AGFO's will organize need based programmes with all the members of subcommittees to solve the local agricultural issues.
  • Promotion of Integrated Farming System (IFS) to increase the productivity of land
    Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will guide and train the farmers in implementation of different components of integrated farming system viz., Dairy, Vermi-composting, Poultry, and Fishery etc., in an agricultural field. Through different schemes Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will provide facilities to adopt different IFS components. Adopting IFS in an agricultural field will make the farmer economically stable.

Marketing Strategies

Raitara Sanjeevini Trust motive is to avoid the middleman in market system by procuring the agricultural produce directly from the farmers. Procured Agricultural produce will be divided into two categories viz.,, fruits and vegetables and Field crops/cereal crops. Fruits and vegetables are marketed using the Raitara Sanjeevini Franchises at different levels whereas field crops/cereal crops are given to auction where vendors are allowed to purchase our produce at market price.


Future strategies

  • To achieve sustainability in crop production by providing scientific knowledge and technical training to the farmers in different agricultural sector.
  • To remove the credit farming system in order to make farmer economically stable.
  • To increase the soil fertility and productivity
  • Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will collect the data such as the area under individual crop, soil condition, major crops in those areas, date of sowing etc. By these data the trust would predict the overall production and market price depending on the demand.
  • By creating a mobile application, Raitara Sanjeevini trust will provide daily weather data in order to help the farmers in all agricultural activities (time of sowing, fertilizer application and harvesting).
  • Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will create storage space where farmers may store their produce till they get the required price.
  • Raitara Sanjeevini Trust will create the market space where farmers can sell their produce directly to the consumer.
  • The registered subcommittee farmers will be registered under Raitara Sene, the organization would stand on behalf of the farmers in all situations to protect the farmer's rights.
  • Raitara Sanjeevini Trust has the intention to have a newspaper media to be voice of farmers, to spread the technology to the farmers, and to recognize the innovative farmers.
